SAIL
Port Douglas is the favoured last port of the annual winter migration of cruising yachts up Australia's east coast. It is also the way my family and I arrived here in 1985 and became a yacht broker. It is the south-east trade winds that brings the cruising yachts here.
Leisure sailing.
Those 200 days per year south-easters provide a comfortable beam reach to  and from our closest island group - Low Isles. The other 165 days offer great conditions for sailing in Trinity Bay and beyond.

POWER
Port Douglas burst on to the power boat scene in 1985.
Famous people brought them here. Golfer Peter Thompson, racing car driver Peter Brock and singer/entertainer Jon Farnham had beautiful power boats in Port Douglas. Christopher Skase brought the super yacht Mirage III to port in 1987.

Well known real estate agent Tony McGrath arrived in 1987 with his luxury power trimaran called "The Agent".
Like me he hasn't left.
